In times of war in Ukraine, music and poetry play a vital role. They serve as powerful tools for emotional resilience, fostering unity, and expressing shared experiences. These artistic expressions become a source of solace, inspiration, and a testament to the enduring spirit of the Ukrainian people.
On New Year’s Eve children and adult performers from the US and Ukraine invited others to enjoy music, poetry, storytelling, puppets, visual art, spreading good cheer in celebration of the indomitable Ukrainian spirit. This Zoom meeting on the 30 December demonstrated unity of people against barbarity, violence and hatred. This event consisted of two parts, Children’s Event at 6:00 pm and Adult Concert at 7:00 pm Kyiv time.
This event took place thanks to Rick Lathrop, Founder/Executive Director Global Service Corps, a project of GSC International Convener GSC Ukraine Program (https://globalservicecorps.org), who managed to combine free English Language speaking clubs for Ukrainians with showcasing artistic talents of both, teachers and students. Thanks for supporting Ukraine!
