📝 February 18 – ‘English for Science’ Club Session 5: Using Academic Wordlists and Glossaries
On February 18, ‘English for Science’, the scientific-oriented club of the Department of English for Engineering 2, held its fifth session, which focused on understanding and effectively using academic wordlists and glossaries.
During the session, students explored strategies for incorporating academic vocabulary into their own fields of study, learned how to use glossaries to enhance comprehension and writing, and practiced applying new terms in context. As a practical component, each participant created a mini glossary relevant to their area of interest, which they then shared and discussed with the group. The session was highly interactive, allowing students to actively engage with the material, apply what they learned, and present their results, fostering both academic development and collaborative learning.
The participants were also invited to continue participating in the club’s discussions throughout the year in order to present their final project at the end of the academic year, ensuring ongoing learning and collaboration.
