April 15 – “English for Science” Club, Session 7: “Academic Integrity”. Modern Challenges”
On April 15, the 7th meeting of the scientific-oriented “English for Science” club of the Department of English for Engineering 2 was held, focusing on academic integrity and its modern challenges. During the session, students defined key concepts related to academic integrity and explored how technological advancements have influenced ethical practices in academic work over time.
Participants identified current challenges, particularly in online and digital environments, and analysed practical strategies to uphold academic honesty. Through interactive activities, students worked with a case study, rearranging and refining a passage by applying techniques such as rewording, summarising, and reorganising information to ensure compliance with academic integrity principles.
The session also included further discussion and critical questioning, encouraging students to reflect on responsible academic behaviour and develop their analytical and communication skills.
Students were invited to participate in the final session of the year in May, where they will submit their written assignment and deliver an online presentation on their chosen topic of scientific research, demonstrating the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the year.
