Internship in Estonia of our teachers

COVID lockdown, and Russian aggression in Ukraine made it barely feasible for many educators to study or teach abroad. However, some Ukrainian teachers were invited to take part in the internship held at the Narva College of the University of Tartu, Estonia and they accepted the challenge.

The participants from Ukrainian partner universities, as well as TESOL-Ukraine members Oksana Chugai and Larysa Svyrydova, undertook an internship course “e-Course Development” at the Narva College of the University of Tartu, Estonia, from 22 to 27 August, 2022. The event went under the umbrella of Erasmus+ KA2 project “Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration / MultiEd”.

The aims of the internships were to deepen the participant’s understanding of digital learning and platforms, share tools for the development of e-courses, improve the participants’ digital skills, learn how to design interactive digital tasks, and code MultiEd e-course.

The participants were engaged in creative tasks connected with the aim of this internship. Apart from practising with digital educational technologies, the participants seized the excellent opportunity to get acquainted with other applications of digital technologies when having an excursion in Narva Castle Museum. The internship program also included an excursion to the shore of the Baltic Sea and other cultural events.

We would like to express gratitude to our Estonian partners who supported Ukrainian educators in these difficult times. We are especially grateful to Oleksandra Golovko, who provided assistance with solving various organizational and technical issues, guided and inspired all the participants during this intense training.
