During the educational process in a blended learning environment, the Department of English for Technical Purposes #2 at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is committed to enhancing its organizational and educational efforts across various university departments, including the Institute of Special Communication and Information Security, the Institute of Telecommunication Systems , Engineering Chemistry Faculty, Education and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Instrumentation Engineering, the Institute of Aerospace Technologies, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Institute of Physics and Technology, and E.O. Paton Institute of Materials’ Science and Welding.
Our faculty members are actively engaged in specialized academic councils, expert councils, and scientific councils. They also participate in working groups at both the university and faculty levels, all aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning process. Additionally, our experts serve as members of editorial boards for professional publications and periodicals indexed in the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.
The department organizes and conducts various scientific, research, educational, and creative events. We strive to prepare our students for participation in diverse competitions, as well as in international and national student Olympiads in the field of English language studies. Furthermore, we arrange online-based Olympiads for students to showcase their knowledge and skills.
In addition to these initiatives, the department actively promotes Virtual Student Exchanges, which significantly contribute to the development of linguistic and intercultural competence among our students. These exchanges offer students valuable opportunities to engage with peers from other countries, allowing them to enhance their English language proficiency while gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures.
Our faculty members are also active participants in professional and public associations, where they actively contribute to the advancement of education and teaching practices. Their dedication and contributions play a crucial role in preparing highly qualified professionals in the field of English for technical purposes.
