Professional development of ESL teachers is important, but it becomes vitally significant during wartime. About 250 teachers from various educational institutions in Ukraine came to Lviv to participate in one of the most important events of the year, the annual TESOL-Ukraine National Convention. It aimed to bring together ESL educators in Ukraine to share experiences and develop strategies for English teaching development in the context of the war in Ukraine and the global changes in ELT. This event was supported by the Regional English Language Office, U.S. Embassy, Ukraine, and organized by TESOL-Ukraine Executive Committee.

Workshops and presentations, round tables, and networking during coffee breaks covered a wide range of topics like professional growth, leadership, emotional intelligence, assessment, gamification, and CLIL, to name just a few. The TESOL-Ukraine National Convention was a success as it demonstrated the resilience and diversity of ESL teachers in a time of war.
