On December 4, 2024, the Faculty of Linguistics at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” hosted the International R&D Online Student Conference and Competition “Science and Technology of the XXI Century”.
The event was co-organized by Hellenic Mediterranean University (Greece), the Cyprus University of Technology (Cyprus), Akademia Piotrkowska w Piotrkowie Trybunalskim (Poland), Dnipro University of Technology, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The conference welcomed 256 participants, including students from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute,” National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, V.G. Korolenko Poltava National Pedagogical University, and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
Additionally, students from international higher educational institutions such as Akademia Piotrkowska w Piotrkowie Trybunalskim (Poland) and University of Granada (Spain) took part in the event.
The conference was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, Chair of the Organizing Committee, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Zoia Korneva, and the Head of the Department of English for Engineering №2, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yuliana Lavrysh.
Innovative ideas were presented by students of the University of Granada (Spain): Honglin Yan delivered a presentation entitled “Teaching Spanish through Video Games: The Case of ‘A Trip to Valencia,’” Dongsheng Yu presented “Serious Video Games for Teaching English to Piano Teachers and University Students of the Music Teaching Degree,” and Justyna Swierczek from Piotrków Pedagogical Academy (Poland) shared her work, “Development of the Third-Grade Pupils’ Kinesthetic Intelligence during Physical Education Classes.”
A total of 30 thematic presentations were delivered during Zoom sessions, addressing a wide range of topics from future trends in science and technology, global challenges and scientific solutions, smart cities and societal impact to resilience and adaptation in the XXI century.

The sectional meetings were conducted at a high scientific and theoretical level, fostering dynamic discussions and constructive debates.
The selected theme of the conference served as a productive platform for exchanging ideas and led to conclusions emphasizing the importance of advancing science and technology under wartime conditions as a key factor for national recovery and future progress.
