Advances in Science and Technology. Conference Report

On December 4, 2025, the Faculty of Linguistics at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” hosted the II International Final R&D Online Conference of the II International Student Research Paper Competition in English “Advances in Science and Technology.”

The conference marked the culmination of the competition, which ran from October 1 to December 4, 2025, in a remote format and consisted of two stages: the first stage involved the submission and review of research papers at participating higher education institutions, and the second stage was the defense of the papers during the final conference.

The event was co-organized by leading Ukrainian and European institutions, including Dnipro University of Technology, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Hellenic Mediterranean University, Greece, Cyprus University of Technology, Cyprus, Wiesbaden Business School, Germany.

Thanks to its international format, the conference provided a platform for exchanging experiences and establishing academic connections.

A total of 212 students from prominent Ukrainian universities participated, including representatives from Igor Sikorsky KPI, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, V.G. Korolenko Poltava National Pedagogical University, State University “Kyiv Aviation Institute”, as well as students from the Piotrków Academy in Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland.

The conference was officially opened by Professor Zoya Kornieva, Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics and Chair of the Organizing Committee, and Professor Yuliana Lavrysh, Head of the Department of English for Engineering No. 2 and Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee. They emphasized the importance of developing student research, innovative approaches to learning, and the role of English in international academic communication.

During the plenary session, students from KPI presented their innovative research: Oleksii Udod (“Advanced composites for small-scale automotive manufacturing”), Valeriia Bekas (“Quadcopter stabilization systems”), and Kateryna Karbas (“Your guide to financial health & wellness”).

Following the plenary session, sectional meetings were held, featuring 30 thematic presentations. Participants discussed current scientific challenges, innovative technologies, and contemporary approaches in the social sciences. The discussions were highly professional and conducted in an atmosphere of active idea exchange and constructive dialogue.

The competition results recognized the best research papers:

  • I place: Valeriia Shymanska (NN MMI, Igor Sikorsky KPI) and Valeriia Vereshchinska (FPM, Igor Sikorsky KPI)
  • II place: Yelyzaveta Sydorenko and Maksym Popov, as well as Polina and Arina Deineka (National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”)
  • III place: Yaroslav Pustovoit (ISZZI, Igor Sikorsky KPI) and Kyrylo Skorobohatko (FSP, Igor Sikorsky KPI)

The chosen theme of the competition and conference provided a productive platform for exchanging ideas and highlighted the importance of advancing science and technology even during wartime, as a key factor in the recovery and future development of the country.
