Effective collaboration exists between the department and the graduating departments of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and related departments of other educational institutions. Each spring, student scientific conferences are organized, where students present their reports on scientific topics in English. Interdisciplinary competitions in English, physics, and mathematics are also held.

The English language learning process is closely aligned with the students’ future careers, and in accordance with the European guidelines for language education developed by the Council of Europe, we focus on developing communicative competence in a foreign language at the level of an independent user. Multimedia technologies, interactive strategies implemented by our faculty, and communicative techniques assist students in achieving a B2 level of language proficiency, which is in line with the bachelor’s degree standard.

Enhancing the quality of teaching and modernizing the scientific and methodological support for the subjects taught, based on the competence approach and credit-module principles in accordance with national and international teaching quality standards, contribute to the professional development of our department. Faculty members of the department actively participate in methodological and research groups, conduct conferences to exchange experiences, assist young teachers in organizing the educational process, and organize seminars on the latest methods and technologies for teaching English. The faculty members are also involved in conferences and seminars, introduce new teaching methods, and collaborate with other universities on recent developments in language training. The department’s employees closely monitor changes and trends in foreign language teaching and their practical applications, which results in publishing scientific and methodological articles in professional journals included in scientometric databases.
