📚 English for Science. Session 2: “3D Printing in Biomedical Engineering” (IELTS Reading Skills)
On October 14, the second meeting of the KPI Student Research Club “English for Science”, organised by the Department of English for Engineering 2 and coordinated by Maryna Degtiarenko, took place.
The session focused on developing academic reading skills through IELTS Academic Reading, using an article on bioprinting as an example. Students explored different reading task types, discussed the skills needed to approach them successfully, and learned practical strategies for tackling reading tasks effectively.
Working in groups, participants shared their knowledge and insights, practised reading comprehension, and expanded their academic vocabulary for discussing 3D printing and its applications in biomedical engineering.
At the end of the session, students had the opportunity to ask questions, clarify any remaining difficulties, and assess their understanding by completing a practice assignment.
Thank you to everyone who joined us! We look forward to seeing you at our next English for Science meeting.
