TESOL International Association brings together English language educators from around the world, fostering a supportive environment for innovation, collaboration, and inspiration throughout the profession. The 2026 TESOL-Ukraine Summer Institute brought Ukrainian ESL teachers together to explore innovative approaches to English language teaching, including transversal skills, STEAM, CLIL, gamification, and project-based learning. Held during wartime, the event demonstrated participants’ commitment to professional development. Its insights were later shared in Hawai’i TESOL’s Newsletter, “The Word.”

It is important to know that Hawai’i Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (HITESOL), a local affiliate of TESOL International Association, is a nonprofit that supports a community of ESL professionals across Hawai’i.

They welcome submissions on any topic relevant to Hawai’i TESOL members, non-members and ESL professionals, including teaching strategies, technology, reviews, member experiences, education news, and practical applications of theory.

By sharing ideas and experiences, ESL educators can strengthen their community and advance English-language teaching internationally.
