Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. is a non-profit started by Ukrainians and Ukrainian-Americans in the U.S. state of Wisconsin in 2022. Its purpose is to raise funds for humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine and to share information about Ukraine and its culture with Wisconsinites. A flyer is attached with more information about the organization.
Examples of Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. fundraisers are bake sales, a pysanka workshop, and sales at local events of items such as mugs, bags, and mouse pads featuring art work by two Ukrainian artists.
To add to those items, we now have a plan to compile a cookbook of Ukrainian recipes. All proceeds will go toward humanitarian aid. Do you have a recipe you consider typically or traditionally Ukrainian? We would love to have it! We are including some guidelines below. Whether or not you are able to send us a recipe, we would appreciate it if you would forward this call along with the attachments to anyone who might be interested in doing so. Thank you!
Guidelines
- 1. Recipes should not be copied from an existing cookbook, although they can be adaptations.
- 2. Please follow the recipe template and sample recipe. Use 12 point Georgia font. Submit as many recipes as you like.
- 3. A picture of the dish is welcome but not necessary. It should be separate from the recipe.
- 4. Please e-mail your recipe(s) to salluvin94@gmail.com by August 31.
- 5. To thank you, a document with food and cooking links, ideas, and activities will be sent to you if you would like it. This document might be of interest to teachers of English and anyone studying English.
